Sean Paine (@seanpaine) featuring CJAMES (@DopeVans) - "Power Moves" (Produced By @OTWGBEATS)

“To be honest, I am inspired by these guys I keep around there. When I came in the game a lot of people helped me, and at the same time a lot of people shut doors in my face. So even though people have burned me that I tried to help along the way, I try not to let that deter me in helping other people. So I always extended my hand to artists that make a positive change and do rap opposed to selling drugs or doing anything else.”
-Gucci Mane (The Fader Interview, 2013)

Back in 2013, 30-year-old Texas native Sean Paine was approached by Brick Squad founder and CEO Gucci Mane  and help him run his Brick Factory studio. Sean Paine and Gucci Mane met in 2011 at Atlanta’s Patchwerk  Studios, where he was interning.

Audio engineer Sean Paine has been in charge of recording, audio mixing, editing  and disseminating Gucci Mane’s innumerable releases from prison since.

Sean Paine revealed in a recent XXL interview that he and Gucci Mane talk five times a day and discuss what songs get remixed or altered (“Me and Gucci talk on the phone at least five times a week, literally almost every day. Basically, he tells me what songs. Gucci’s got a whole bunch of songs he’s recorded, so sometimes we might swap out a beat to keep it up to date. Or you know, he might’ve recorded it older but I put a couple effects in there to make it sound more modern.”)

While serving a jail term in the Terre Haute U.S. Penitentiary, Gucci Mane has gone on to release countless projects from prison (starting with 2013’s  The State vs. Radric Davis II: The Caged Bird Sings on Christmas Day, 2014’s Young Thugga Mane La Flare with Young Thug, Brick Factory Vol. 1, on May 24th, World War 3D, eighth digital album Trap House 4 on July 4, 2014, Felix Brothers with Young Dolph and PeeWee Longway, The Oddfather  on July 28, 2014, tenth digital album Gucci Vs Guwop on August 15, 2014, Brick Factory Vol. 2 on September 3, free mixtape The Return of Mr. Perfect on Sep 13, Trap God 3 on October 17, 2014, Big Gucci Sosa with Chief Keef on October 31, 2014, 13th digital album East Atlanta Santa, on Christmas Day, C-Note Vs.
